Clean up at VISTA Gardens Site
Continues

On Saturday April 18, Hillsborough County’s “Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful” Department hosted a clean up at our VISTA Gardens site.

Liz Strom, Director of Urban and Regional Planning, Dept. of Geography, USF, provided a helping hand at the VISTA Gardens clean up.

The county provided water, gloves, coupons, garbage bags, and a dumpster. The clean up, which took place from 8 am to 12 noon, resulted in five large garbage bags of air potatoes and other garbage plus a dumpster full of branches, Brazilian pepper trees and other weeds. Last year’s clean up piles were removed and we were able to clear out the west side of the fence and part of the back side.

County Commissioner Kevin Beckner’s aide, Mark Nash, stopped by to show his support for the project.

Thanks to all our supporters who stopped by to help out. If you missed it don’t worry, we still have plenty of Brazilian pepper and damaged trees to remove on the back and east fence.
